NHTSA Recall Affects 19 Million Vehicles
On November 3rd, 2015, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a $200 million civil penalty against Takata, due to their manufacture of faulty air bag inflators. The recall affects over 19 million vehicles from 12 auto manufacturers including BMW, Fiat-Chrysler, Daimler Trucks, Daimler Vans, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, and Toyota.
